X‑CONNECT® receives DNV cyber security type approval

As cyber security requirements continue to grow across the maritime industry, the approval provides independent verification that cyber security is built into the X‑CONNECT® platform from the ground up. 

The certification confirms that the platform has been assessed against recognized maritime cyber security requirements and that core security functions have been reviewed and approved by DNV. 

Built-in security

Modern vessels rely on increasingly connected systems, making cyber resilience an important part of vessel design and operation.

X‑CONNECT® is designed around key security principles such as controlled access, network segmentation, secure configuration, logging and recovery capabilities. The DNV approval confirms that these functions are part of the platform itself rather than being added separately for each project.

With the platform already type approved, shipyards and system integrators can start from an independently verified security baseline. Much of the underlying cyber security assessment has already been completed at platform level, allowing project teams to focus on vessel-specific configuration and implementation.
