Alarm and Monitoring System

Your vessel, monitored. Always.

The Alarm and Monitoring System (AMS) gives your crew a complete, real-time picture of the vessel’s system status. Built on professional marine-grade hardware, and fully integrated in X‑CONNECT®, the AMS delivers trusted information to every operator station at all times.

1
Intuitive vessel overview

All critical data from the vessel, such as switchboards, main engines, propulsion units, other ship systems and mission equipment are collected and presented in a structured manner. Your crew gets targeted information without navigating between systems.

2
High operability

Enhanced diagnostics and built-in tools simplify troubleshooting directly from the operator station. Problems can be identified and addressed by onboard crew.

3
Built to last, easy to update

With spare parts onboard, the crew can be self-serviced and get the system fully operational without the need of service personnel onboard. New features and software changes available as over-the-air upgrades.

What is an Alarm and Monitoring System?

An Alarm and Monitoring System is a requirement for safe vessel operations. Its primary function is to collect, process and present alarms and vessel data continuously to alert crew members of critical conditions.

AMS integrates information from vessel systems and presents it in real-time to the crew. Alarm history, trending data, system status and diagnostics are all accessible from every operator station.

For vessels with unattended machinery spaces (E0), an Extension Alarm System (EAS) is required. EAS panels on the bridge, in cabins and in public spaces provide visual and audible alerts when machinery spaces are unattended.

When control, automation and system functionality are added to the AMS, it becomes an Integrated Automation System (IAS). The IAS must comply with additional class requirements and regulations such as redundancy group and redundant network.

Features

Current alarms

Real-time alarms and system status presented across all operator stations, with trending and alarm history.

Alarm lab

Historical alarm view presented as an intuitive timeline, with adjustable time scale and alarm filtering for crew hand-over and post-incident review.

Signal lab

Dedicated diagnostic mimic that simplifies fault finding and signal verification, supporting the crew in troubleshooting.

Internal diagnostics

Built-in system monitoring, such as hardware status, network overview and serial line diagnostics to streamline troubleshooting.

Extension Alarm System (EAS)

Visual and audible alarms for vessels with unattended machinery spaces, using watch-call panels on bridge, in cabins and public areas, according to class rules.
