What is an Integrated Automation System?

An Alarm and Monitoring System is a requirement for safe vessel operations. Its primary function is to collect, process and present alarms and vessel data continuously to alert crew members of critical conditions. When control of vessel system are added to an AMS, it becomes an Integrated Automation System (IAS).

The IAS is also commonly referred to as an Alarm Monitoring and Control System (AMCS). It is a larger, more complex system that must comply with additional class and regulatory requirements, such as redundancy groups and system segmentation and network redundancy.

Can X-CONNECT® be used on vessels of all sizes?

Yes. X-CONNECT® has been proven onboard vessels ranging from 15m with 80 signals/IO up to approximately 150m with around 10,000 signals/IO. The platform is scalable and has been successfully deployed across a wide range of vessel types and sizes within this range.

Will the system support and adapt to future operations?

Yes. Blue Ctrl continuously develops the X-CONNECT® platform to keep pace with evolving market trends and regulations. All platform updates are made available to X-CONNECT® customers as part of the ongoing product roadmap.

How can X-CONNECT® support digitalization to improve my business?

Will I need to replace my automation system due to obsolete hardware?
