BLUE BOX™ brings live operational data from your vessels to your office, securely and in real time. Whether you have X‑CONNECT® systems onboard, or a third-party automation system, BLUE BOX™ gives your team the insight needed to make smarter decisions, meet reporting requirements, reduce fuel consumption and to plan maintenance.

Data harvesting - edge device

Operational data is collected, compressed, encrypted and transmitted to the cloud, and can be accessed through standardised APIs for third party integration. The BLUE BOX™ puts low strain on the bandwidth, and the data is buffered onboard in case of loss of internet connection.

Your data, under your control

All vessel data is owned by you. Access it through any tool that supports standard integrations such as PSQL and REST APIs. All transmitted data is stored in the cloud for as long as you require.

Works with any vessel, any system

For vessels already running X‑CONNECT®, BLUE BOX™ is a software upgrade, without the need of additional hardware. For vessels with third-party automation systems, a compact hardware solution is all it takes.

What is BLUE BOX™?

BLUE BOX™ is a ship-to-cloud data acquisition solution built on X‑CONNECT®. It collects data from onboard systems, and transmits it securely to a dedicated cloud server. From there, your team accesses it through the X‑CONNECT® web portal or standardised APIs .

BLUE BOX™ supports data from X‑CONNECT® products and third-party vessel systems. Data is encrypted and buffered locally in case of lost connectivity.

X‑CONNECT® web portal

X‑CONNECT® web portal is tailored for viewing your vessel and fleet data. Custom data tiles (KPIs) and vessel tracking give you a clear overview of what matters most such as fuel consumption, power and system status and more. Basic reports can also be customised and transmitted automatically.

What happens to BLUE BOX™ data collection if the vessel loses internet connectivity?

BLUE BOX is designed to handle intermittent connectivity. Data is logged and stored locally onboard during periods without internet access, and automatically synchronised to the cloud when the connection is restored. There is no data loss due to connectivity gaps during normal operation.

Will the system support and adapt to future operations?

Yes. Blue Ctrl continuously develops the X-CONNECT® platform to keep pace with evolving market trends and regulations. All platform updates are made available to X-CONNECT® customers as part of the ongoing product roadmap.
